2LAKES Real Estate specialist, Norman Donald, lives and works from his New Zealand home.
He is based amongst the Rotorua Lakes which include: Lake Rotorua, Lake Rotoiti, Lake Rotoma, Lake Rotoehu, Lake Okataina, Lake Rerewhakaitu, Lake Tarawera, Lake Okareka and Lake Rotomahana.
Lake Rotomahana is famous for the lost “Eighth” Wonder of the World, THE PINK AND WHITE TERRACES. The Pink and White Terraces have recently been rediscovered after they had long been considered destroyed during Mount Tarawera’s eruption in 1886.
All of these fresh-water lakes, rivers, & streams are unspoiled, clad with native bush, and the home of the giant Rainbow and Brown trout. There is also a thriving wild deer population with a year-round open season for hunting and some fishing.
A host of guides are available to show people where they can be away from civilisation either by helicopter or the spectacular scenic walking tracks. Whether you come for the wildlife or, simply, for water skiing, swimming in the thermal hot pools, or enjoying quiet times, there are always a variety of waterfront homes or the affordable kiwi baches for sale.
New Zealand was best summed up by a quote from former US President Bill Clinton when he visited our country in September 1999 with this great quote:
“Every person, when he or she is young, dreams of finding some enchanting place, of beautiful mountains and breathtaking coastline and clear lakes and amazing wildlife. Most people give up on it… because they never find New Zealand”
